Self-Hosting and Beyond

Unraid

As the heart of my home lab, my Unraid servers power a wide range of services. I currently manage three servers: a dedicated media server, a utility server, and an offsite backup server.

  • Media Server: Runs Plex, Navidrome, and Audiobook shelf for all my entertainment needs.
  • Utility Server: Hosts applications like Bookstack for documentation, Homarr for my dashboard, and Immich and Nextcloud AIO for personal cloud services.
  • Backup Server: Uses Syncthing to automatically back up critical data from my other servers offsite, ensuring my data is always safe and secure.
  • **Uptime Dashboard:** Check the live status of my self-hosted services at uptime.jdbaron25.com

PC Gaming

I'm a dedicated PC gaming enthusiast who enjoys the challenge and reward of building and fine-tuning my machine. From selecting the right components to optimizing performance, I love the process of creating a powerful rig for a truly immersive experience. My current build is a work of art, allowing me to enjoy the latest games with stunning visuals and smooth framerates.

Home Assistant

My home is a living lab for automation, with a dedicated Home Assistant instance running on a standalone computer. I use it to integrate and control everything from my lighting and climate to my security cameras. This powerful open-source platform allows me to create intricate automations and a truly smart, connected living space.

Self-Hosting

Self-hosting is a passion of mine that gives me full control over my data and services. Beyond my Unraid servers, I am constantly exploring new open-source applications and containers to expand my personal digital infrastructure. This includes everything from web servers to personal cloud solutions, all managed from my own equipment.
